Wydad Athletic Club becomes the first Moroccan club to use SkillCorner

.

We are pleased to announce that we are supporting Wydad Athletic Club, the most decorated club in Morocco, in its search for new talent through the combination of Physical Data and Game Intelligence from SkillCorner. By acting as a pioneer in adopting innovative recruitment methods, Wydad AC reinforces its long-term vision and its key role in the evolution of African football.

Wydad AC leveraged SkillCorner’s analyses to strengthen its recruitment strategy this summer, confirming decisions aligned with the club’s vision, including the signing of 23-year-old Joseph Bakasu, who played last season in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The analysis of his metrics in the CAF Champions League with AS Maniema Union allowed the recruitment team to assess his physical and technical abilities, confirming his capacity to perform in a demanding, high-intensity environment.

"We are delighted to work with SkillCorner to enhance our player and performance analysis. We use SkillCorner both for scouting players through indexes we have developed and for analyzing our opponents, particularly using physical metrics to predict their periods of strength and weakness. » said Youssef Debbagh, Managing Director of Wydad Athletic Club.

Michael Soumbou, Business Manager Development in Africa for SkillCorner, added: "We are proud to support Wydad Athletic Club, the first Botola Pro club to actively integrate data into its recruitment process. Their innovative approach confirms that data can transform how talent is identified and assessed."

This collaboration reflects SkillCorner’s ability to provide high-precision analyses at an international scale. By tracking over 150 competitions worldwide, SkillCorner provides clubs with detailed data that helps evaluate talent and support recruitment decisions, regardless of the league or competitive context.
